News: Mevo Carshare Lands $1M in Funding

Our client, Mevo, has already earned the titles; Australasia’s first free-floating carshare AND New Zealand’s first electric carshare. Now it has earned $1M in funding!

In its latest round of funding, the Wellington-based carshare received investments from New Zealand transport energy company, Z Energy (ZEL), as well as new funding from European Motor Distributors (EMD) and The Wellington Company (TWC).

In the past six months, Mevo has made some truly amazing achievements! It has doubled its membership, rolled out at Wellington Airport and launched the first free-floating carshare service in Australasia!

This funding will definitely further fuel Mevo’s growth as it prepares for continued expansion of their team and network.

“It’s really promising to see established New Zealand companies like European Motor Distributors, The Wellington Company, and Z Energy actively engaging in environmentally responsible, future-focused initiatives,” chief executive and co-founder Erik Zydervelt said in a statement.

Vulog provides the technology platform required to successfully deploy Mevo’s free-floating service. Currently, carsharing users unlock a Vulog powered shared-vehicle every 2 seconds. Our solutions make up the technological heart of many mobility services around the world – including Australasia’s very first free-floating carsharing service.

Congratulations, Mevo Team!
